had sand coming in my pool. changed the centerpipe 3 times. laterals and pipe are perfectly fine. ive done this before without any issues. after 3 times cant seem to find the problems. tons of sand coming in my pool. what could i be overlooking?
Anthony - We’ll assume that there are no issues with the standpipe or laterals. We recommend checking the hub for any cracks.
The S210T is designed for 44 gallons per minute. If your pump provides more than 44 gpm, it can cause sand to bypass the filter.
Another cause could be too much sand in the filter. The S210T is designed for 200 pounds of silica sand.
Hub is fine. I put the right amount of sand in. The pump that I’m using is the same pump that I’ve always used without any issues. Brand new multiport. Don’t know what else could be the problem.
The only other possibility I can think of is that the laterals cracked when the new sand was poured into the filter.
I thought this might be the case. When I took it apart for the 3rd time and found it was not, I poured all the sand in with a small cup to make sure this wouldn’t happen. Still did. The sand seems to be not coming in as much. Maybe sand was coming in through the top of the pipe somehow. I only put the required 200 lbs of sand. Still monitoring the situation.
