Hayward DE4820 filter not filtering High pressure

So we have an unground fiberglass pool that has been green from the winter wevhave a hayward variable speed pump. We’ve cleaned the filter cartridges backflushed ect they were replaced the end of last summer as well and when running wirrtbhe filter set to filter the filter pressure is up to 30 and their is no to super low flow in the return lines. If I set the filter to circulate the pump moves the water through the return lines great. And we have flushed and cleared all lines and theirbis no obstruction. Which leads to it being a problem with the filter but what could be the problem ? Any ideas?

Hello Dhawkins - My guess is that your filter is filling up very quickly due to the green pool. You may need to backwash several times a day until the pool clears up and the pressure drops down to normal.

Another option would be to use a product called Floc and Vac. This kind of chemical is added to a cloudy pool and it forces everything in the water to fall to the floor. At that point, you can vacuum the debris to waste. That way it doesn’t clog up the filter.

The filters are not very dirty when we pull them out. So I don’t think it’s them getting dirty. Does anyone know if 30 psi is ok to run at it’s a gravity flow system with pump the pool House has 5 feet of fall from the pool.

I have ordered some of the housing parts for the grid as the ones we have are old and in one place cracked but the grids themselves are new.

Every pool is different but 30 psi is usually high. What is the psi right after you backwash the filter?

You mentioned that the flow from the jets is good when the valve is on recirculate and there is very little flow when in the filter position. This is normally caused by a clogged/dirty filter. The grids may look clean but could be clogged up with grease or oils.
