I have a Hayward SP2610X15 pump mated to a Century 1 1/2 HP motor, both of unknown age. The housing strainer (2 in) has a pinhole leak about 1/4 inch from the seal plate. The leak hasn’t been getting worse. Is replacing the housing strainer worth the $213.99 cost that I found on your website?. Is there any product that would seal the leak?
On another topic, my enclosed salt water pool here in Port Charlotte, FL is only 4500 gallons with one water feature. The pool is used infrequently. When I moved in the pump was running about 8 hours/day. Does the pump need to run 8 hours for such a small pool? When I have to replace the pump, do I need a 11/2 HP motor?
