What does slo mean on my display?
Thank you for contacting Inyo. The most common cause for the SLO fault code is low salt. Have your water tested to confirm the salt level.
Also, make sure the cell size selected in the control display matches your salt cell. The wrong cell selection in the box can also cause that fault code.
If your salt levels in your pool test good then I would also check the flow of your pump. Are you using a variable speed pump (VSP)? If so and you are running the VSP at a very low speed (i.e. lower than 35 gallons per minute) then the cell does not get all the filled up with water and the sensor that detects salt levels is at the top of the cell meaning that it cannot accurately read the salt level since it is not in contact with the pool water. Two solutions if this is your issue…
Solution 1 Increase the flow on your VSP to a higher RPM when using your salt system
Solution #2 Turn your cell upside down, this will put the sensor at the bottom of the cell so if your cell is not getting all the way filled to the top with water then the sensor will still engage as the sensor will be on the bottom of the cell in contact with your pool water.
I hope this helps, let us know how things turn out.
Thanks for the help. I must have inadvertently pushed the right sequence of buttons to select an incorrect cell. I now have the correct cell selected and all seems to be working fine. I really appreciate the quick response.
Thank you for the update. The wrong cell selection has been a common issue.
