I have a Pentair Whisperflo pump WFE-6, HP 1.5, SFHP 2.21, 3450 RPM. My presssure in my Haywwrd Superstar (4-cartridge) filter is never below 20 psi, even with new cartridges and I’ve had to replace the bottom manifold several times. Based on my estimates, the pump is oversized and I would like to change the impeller down to a 1 hp. I think it would still clean my 28000 gallon and elimnate my pressure and manifold issues. Which impeller would be the right part for this? Would I need to replace the diffuser as well?
Hello ReeseWren - Downsizing the impeller will decrease the flow. The 1HP impeller would be part number 073128. The diffuser would not have to be changed.
