I just got my dolphin nautilus in today. I have been struggling with extremely cloudy water for a month. We just bought this house. All pool numbers are near perfect. I have even checked phosphates, calcium hardness and cya. All are great. We just have lots of dead algae, pollen and who knows what else at the bottom and suspended in the pool. We have a sand filter which we just put Zeosand in. I tried a clarifier but it didn’t seem to work. The water will seem super clear but you can see the sediment at the bottom. As soon as I try to manual vac it shakes it all up and it suspended again in the pool water. It’s a vicious cycle. So we decided to buy a really nice Vacuum in hopes it will help us. I’m having to wash the accordion filters in the Nautilis every 30 minutes to an hour because they’re so clogged that it shoots the cloudy white gray water back out the top. Any other tips? I called customer service and they said that I could try adding a flocculant. Then to use a cartridge cleaner. what is the brand name and where can I buy a cartridge cleaner? Thank you so much for your help
Hello JenVega07 - The best stuff we have to clear up dead algae is Natural Chemistry’s Pool First Aid. This product combines concentrated natural enzymes and a fast acting polymer clarifier for quick and easy clean up of:
- Dead Algae
- Pollen
- Oil Leaks & Hydraulic Spills
- Antifreeze Residue
- High Organic Waste Loads
As far as the cleaner, they must have been talking about the Sand Aid Cleaner. I would try the Pool First Aid and then see if you still need the Sand Aid. More than likely the Pool First Aid will solve the problem.
