Converting single whisperflow pump to variable

Hello,

Im new in the pool world and i wanted to convert my single speed pentair whisperflow AO smith part #  7-177450-03((1 hp? I think)  to a variable motor without replacing the fixed housing. Does anyone know the variable model that would fit?

What changes would i have to make when going with a variable pump as far as setup on my controller if anything. Is it just plug and play with just some pool size entries in the local controller on the pump?

The replacement variable speed motor for your 1HP Whisperflo pump would be model ECM16SQU. We’d also recommend replacing the seals when you replace the motor. The seal kit for the Whisperflo is GOKIT32.

You wouldn’t have to make any changes to the controller. You would wire it up to the timer/controller the same way. The motor is a plug and play.
