Hello,
I am new to pool ownership and have a question for you all…
This year, I noticed that my pool cover sunk into the pool below the water line. I made a mistake this year by not being diligent about pumping water off the cover after rain and snow, so I know I’ve put myself in this unfortunate situation. As far as I can tell, there are no visible rips, tears, or holes in the cover. There very well could be, which would explain the cover sinking into the pool, but I guess my question is…is it possible for the cover to sink in without it having any rips, tears, or holes? Is it possible that the weight of the accumulated rain/snow on top of the cover pushed it down into the pool? Since the cover is solid and not mesh, I didn’t think water could permeate through, but after doing some research online, I’m seeing people talk about how enough weight can in fact cause some permeation. Anyhoo, because of this predicament, I’ve had to drain a whole ton of water out of my pool, which is going to cost me probably $500-700 to refill…sigh.
Any information/knowledge/experience regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated…thanks
