Brand New Pool Pump Motor Humming Noise

Hey Folks, I had a working Hayward Super Pump In-ground Pool pump motor when my pool guy was opening my pool this season. He went to start it and it wasn’t priming - made a humming noise. He tried moving the impeller with a screw driver a few times and eventually the motor stopped making the humming noise altogether (he probably blew it out). He told me “I had a bad motor”. I just bought a brand new motor from inyopools.com and installed it myself. I cleaned out all the casings and plates (quite some debris on there) and even replaced the shaft seals and gaskets (bought a gokit from inyopools.com). I also made sure to switch the pump to 115V (which is how the previous pump was configured). When I went to prime the pump again with the brand new motor it made that same humming noise and still won’t prime. Any idea what the issue could be?
