Best way to install an outside GFI breaker for pool pump?

Hello everyone,

I have an older home beachside so things are not all to current codes. When I recently rebuilt my pool pump and I replaced my pool light and pool light transformer I realized that the pool pump motor does not have any GFI protecting it. In the old days, they just installed pool pumps without GFI’s but I would feel better if I put a GFI with my pool pump motor. So my question is… what is the easiest/simplest way to do this? Unfortunately, the power that goes to the Timer and thus the motor are not from a dedicated breaker in the fuse panel inside the house. Otherwise, the simplest way is to just install a GFI breaker in there. I believe that means I only have the option of creating an outdoor panel with a 2 pole breaker and wire that to the timer or the motor? I’m pretty handy and was able to rebuild my pump and install my new transformer as well as a new light. But I don’t know what to purchase or how to install a 2 pole breaker. I don’t know what panel box to buy and I don’t know where I wire the breaker to the timer or just in between the motor and the timer? Thanks for any help.

LOL, no one knows how to install GFI breakers here?   I see the perfect 2 pole breaker here…

Siemens QF220A QF220 Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, 20 Amp, 2 Pole, 120 Volt, 10,000 AIC

But what outdoor panel is cheap but durable for outdoor?
