Our pentair sd80 sand filter cracked at the seam. We’ve had it about two years. It replaced a fiberglass filter than lasted 15-20 yrs. we have an in ground pool about 20,000 gallons and a 1 1/2 hp pump. Hate to change the plumbing, but would rather do that than buy another pump so soon. Seam failing seems to be prevalent with the pentair. Have seen mixed reviews on the haywards too. Not sure about the jacuzzis, but they seem to have longer warranty. Thoughts? Thanks!

I do like the Jacuzzi Laser Sand Filters however they only go up to a 2.64 Sq. Ft. model. With your 1.5 HP pump I would perfer to see you go with something larger like the Hayward S270T2 3.7 Sq. Ft. Sand Filter The larger Hayward filter means that you will put less stress on your pump meaning your pump will last longer. You will also have more filtering capacity meaning longer time between needing to backwash your filter, you will also be operating at a lower PSI meaning your filter tank will be under far less pressure.
