B2982 Pool Pump Motor

I just purchased aB2982 pool pump motor thru you guys and I was wondering if you could help me with the wiring.  I’ve done some research and the only thing I’ve seen is connecting your green GND, red to either low and black to either high.  This is for a 230V.  My question is I have 2 timers and 4 wires.  I have a Green for GND, Red, Black AND BLUE.  Can anyone help in trying to figure this out?

FYI:  for the diagram that’s on the pump, there’s a LO-A, HI-L1, COM-L2 and GRD-GND.

Hello Armandoc03 - We’d be glad to assist you. What timers do you have? Is it the Intermatic T104 and T106 models?

What i got is a T10604R control Panel with 2 time switches.

Also…one of the timer keeps getting stuck on the on/off little trgger deal that flips tge switch on. Any ideas on that?

Fyi i did a search for that pn and it says it contains 106M and T104 mechanism, and for description says: Intermatic T10504R Pool/Spa Control Center T106M and T104M for what it’s worth. Thanks again for the help.

We have a guide on how to install a 2-speed motor to the T106 and T104 mechanisms. We also have a wiring diagram regarding the 2-speed motor and T106/T104 timers.

The timer getting stuck may be the cause of a damaged tripper. The trippers are part number 156T1978A.

Still having issues with woring. 2 questions. I think black is high, red is low and blue is common. What happens if I switch my high and low? Also how do I tell the difference between my T106 and T104?

If the high speed and low speeds are accidentally wired incorrectly, the wrong speed will be activated when the timer turns on. For example, the pump would start in the low speed even though you have set the timer to start the pump in high speed. You would simply need to swap the connections.

In a T10604R, the T106 is on the left and the T104 is on the right.

Ok first of thanks for all the help. So hooked it up how i thought it should go and this is what i got. When left timer is on and right timer is on it is at low speed. When timer 2 goes off then it is at high speed. Is that the way it should go? I used to remember both had to be on for high, left on right off for low? Did I miss something? Do I have wires switched? Is it ok to run it how I have it? Don’t want to damage pump.

I checked out the T10604R manual and found the following instructions regarding testing the timers.

a. Turn the manual level of the time switches to OFF.

b. Turn ON power at breaker panel.

c. Move the manual lever of T104M to the right (ON). Pump should start and run on low speed.

d. Move the manual lever of T106M to the right (ON). Pump should now be running on high speed.

e. Move the manual lever of T104M to the left (OFF). Pump should stop running.

It sounds like you may have something crisscrossed. Is the low speed line from the motor going to terminal 2 of the T106 and is the high speed line from the pump going to terminal 3 of the T106?

So this is what I’ve got I have terminal two on the left timer(T104 I’m assuming) going to L1-high on pump, there are two wires going from right timer (T106 I’m assuming) going from terminal two blue wire to L2 common on pump, and terminal 4 red wire to A-Lo on pump. I am thinking maybe I have my high and low switched? Right now when I start with both switches off, everything is off. When I turn switch one on, pump turns on to high speed, when I turn on timer to it goes to low speed. Turning timer one off turns everything off. Hope that helps.

Should say when I turn timer 2 on to high speed, not “to”

The timer on the left side of the T10604R should be the T106 and the the one on the right should be T104. Below is the wiring diagram.

You must have them switched. The only impact is that the correct speeds will not turn on when they are supposed to.
