I have an inground pool. When I try to vacuum the pool I get a good amount of air in the pump. Can’t close off one skimmer. With both open not enough suction I replaced the pump cover gasket with no improvement.

Hello Victor - We’d be glad to assist you. First, make sure there are no holes in the vacuum hose. If there are no holes, the air is being caused because the pump is trying to pull more water than the vacuum line can provide. You’ll need to keep the skimmer that’s vacuuming open and partially open the opposite skimmer. This way you allow more water to the pump but not so much that it takes suction away from the vacuuming skimmer.
