Just installed a new motor (B2977) to replace old motor (B977) suppose to be
interchangable. All wiring is the same but only runs on high, when timer switches to
low motor stops. Can there be a problem with the so called interchanability of these
2 motors. There is a little difference in motors as far as wiring in back of motor, but
all the connections are same. L1,L2, L3or4
Hello SJ0764 - The B2977 and B977 are interchangeable. Maybe you have the low and common lines mixed. Another possibility is that there is a loose connection at the low terminal on the motor or at the timer/control box.
Which connections would that be L1 and L2 or something else
Switched L1 and L4 only ran on low ,only runs on high when switched back.
Puzzled???
There should be a wiring diagram on your motor label. It will tell you where to connect the high, low and common lines. You’ll have to look at your control panel or timer and figure out which line is which.
