It depends on the feet of head and the pump model. A standard goal is to turn the body of water over once a day. If you run the pump 8 hours a day, the pump would need to produce 52 gallons per minute. Something like the 1.5HP Hayward Super pump would be sufficient if the feet of head is 50’ or less.
