Had new variable speed pump installed May 2016. Now pool vacuum Zodiac gets tear in diaphragm every month! Speed for pump was set at 2,750 and 1,400 RPM . My pool is approx. 17,000 gal. What should the speed be and for how long? Equipment was installed by professionals from store and set per recommendations.
Hello MyPump16 - There are a number of speeds that could get the job done. Unfortunately there is not one particular speed for 17,000 gallons. Every pool is different and could require different needs. You’ll want to run the pump long enough to turn the body of water over once a day. To figure out what speeds are producing what GPM, you’ll need to calculate the feet of head and then use the pump’s curve chart.
As far as the cleaner, try dialing back the speeds to find out what the minimum is to run the Zodiac.
