I am planning to install a 12 x 24 above ground pool and was thinking of buying the Hayward max flo vs pump. Not sure of all the head calculations but the range on this pump seems to be what I need. What do you guys thing? Also, I like the hayward perlflex e75 DE filter. I know this is a bit oversized but from what I read its ok to do this, and even benificial. Thoughts?

Hello KarlWB - We’d be glad to assist you. The Hayward Max-Flo VS would be a good option for your pool. You wouldn’t need to run it on the high speed for that size pool. You could run it on a lower speed to circulate the water and kick it up to a higher speed to vacuum.
The Hayward EC75 is a bit oversized for your pool but that’s ok for filters. I would always recommend going with a larger filter because it can hold more debris and you won’t have to clean it as often.
