Pump Replacement recommendation

Recently purchased a forclosure with a inground vineal liner pool with a sand filter.  I have the pool open and clean finally, The pump runs but the pressure seems a little low and it makes an ungodly racket when running. It also seems to be surging at times. There are bubbles coming out of my returns but I do not see any leaks.  The Pump is a Pinnacle Pac-Fab inc PFII-P1-1.  All of the stickers on the motor are worn away or so faded they are unreadable.

I am thinking I may just purchase a new pump before it goes. I would like to go variable speed. I am pretty sure I can install it myself. The plumbing and electrical seem to be fairly straight forward. Can someone recommend a good replacement?

Thanks

Chuck

Hi ChucZ,

I think it is a good idea to replace your pump now before it goes and you will save on your operational costs with a Variable Speed. The PureLine Pure Flow Variable Speed Pool Pump would be a great option as a variable speed replacement for the Pac Fab Pinnacle.

Thank You

Patrick
