Pump motor question

I was gone on vacation and the backwash lever broke, the roll pin bent, and the lever came up and the pump ran the whole time in the backwash mode and did not pump water for about 24 hours. Now the motor runs but will not pump any water. Do I need to replace the entire motor or is there something else that is a cheaper fix for the problem.

Hello Vremediz - If the motor shaft is spinning, the motor should be ok. However, the heat from the pump running dry could have damaged several of the internal parts. We would recommend replacing the seals and impeller first. You may end up needing a new seal plate and diffuser if those are damaged.

What is the make and model of the pump?
