Pool Pump Motor Replacement

I require a replacement for my pool pump motor.

It is a Sta_rite 1.5HP model#P2RA5F182L.

You have several motors listed.  Which do you recommend as a replacement?

Hello Igmisc - We’d be glad to assist you. The direct replacement motor for the 1.5HP Sta-Rite P2RA5F-182L is part number USQ1152.

We would also recommend replacing the pump seals. The seal kit would be part number GOKIT54. This kit is used on your model if it was manufactured 1998 or after. However, it will work on older models if you remove the copper cone from the seal plate.

Would the high efficency pump UQC1152 be a suitable replacemeny?

You could use the UQC1152 as an energy efficient single speed option. You could also use the 2-speed model B2982T or the variable speed model ECM16SQU.

I’ve decided to purchase the UQC1152 motor.  Do you suggest I also purchase GOKIT54?

We definitely recommend replacing the seals when you replace the pool pump motor. The GOKIT54 will work with your Sta-Rite P2RA5F-182L.

Will it work withthe UQC1152?

Yes. It will work with any motor as long as you have the Sta-Rite P2RA5F-182L.
