I run several pool pumps and find myself changing a motor at least once a year. Do you know of a vendor that offers a connector that screws into the motor power opening to “connectorize” the motor instead of the standard flying leads? I’d retrofit the motors myself and buy extra plugs to prewire replacement motors to the connector, but I can’t find a vendor that sells anything close to what I want.
Could you tell me why this would be a bad idea?
Hi Yardslave,
Are you thinking of a connector like this Amphenol Connector that would plug directly into the motor?
Thank You
Patrick

YES, something that would screw into the motor like a sweep 90 or cable clamp. I’d reterminate the “cable” end and mount the motor’s plug up to the motor on the bench. (It would make the swap out 10 times faster and less stress on the flying leads.) That looks like the female portion that would fit on the motor, it there a Male plug as well?
The more I obcess about this, I can’t believe this isn’t more common.
Thanks for the lead Patrick, I’ll run it down…
Yardslave,
Let us know how you do with this project, yes that is the female and there is a male plug too.
