At start up my 1.5 hp a.o.smith motor creats a loud hummimg noise then it gets a little quieter while running .
I have changed the run cap, does this motor have a start cap. The noise never really goes away.

My pump label is weathered badly numbers are not readible. If this helps the run cap is located on top of the motor. I removed the small inspection door on the back can ass’y, couldn’t see a cap. You think I might have to remove the complete back can ass’y.
The capacitor would be visible as soon as you remove the end cap. You must only have one capacitor. Could you shoot a video of the motor starting up and running? You can post the video directly to the forum.
