Hayward Aquarite Salt Water Cell

The digital display salt reading drops down every day to a low level whereby the yellow blinking “Check Cell” light comes on, and I have to re-calibrate the salt display reading to an increased number that keeps the yellow blinking light from coming on.  I’ve checked the pool water salt level manually with salt test strips and get a salt reading about 3900.  But after re-calibrating to about 3200 to 3500, the digital reading falls within about 4 hours to a reading of about 2100, and the yellow light starts blinking.  I have cleaned the Cell Unit with the recommended acid and water mixture.   All electrical connections are clean and tightly connected.

Question:  Is my Cell Unit defective or could there be another problem like an electrical problem within the circuit board or panel?

Hello PeterCarbonejr - What cell is the board set on right now? You can press the diagnostic button 8 times in order to view the selected cell size. The cell size in the display should match the number on your salt cell (T-9, T-15, Etc). If not, you can change the cell size by moving the main switch from Auto to Super Chlorinate and then back to Auto. Do this until the correct cell size is in the display and leave the switch in the Auto position.

If the correct cell is selected and you’re still having issues, the salt cell may need to be replaced.
