We don’t have an impeller ring.
We installed a Hayward Super Pump purchased from you.
When we completed our installation step by step from your video, water came gushing from
pump. We also purchased the GoKit3 from you and installed all seals and gaskets.
My question is - do we need the impeller ring.
The old pump didn’t have one either.

The pump we used in the motor replacement motor video is the Hayward Super II pump and it does use an impeller ring, the pump you have is the Hayward Super Pump and it does not use an impeller ring. Two common items that cause leaking would be not tightening the impeller down tight enough and installing the shaft seal backwards. Make sure the spring portion of the seal is what slides over the hub of the impeller also sometimes when people remove the old shaft seal the leave the metal collar from the old shaft seal on the impeller this metal collar should be removed.
