Custom Hot Tub

Looking for some information on creating a custom hot tub for a client here in Colorado.  Would like to use pool parts instead of our standard pond construction.

A few questions…

Are you looking at going with a fiberglass shell or plaster shell?

Do you want the spa to be inground?

Would this be a spa only?

What are the dimensions you are wanting?

How many jets?

How far away will the equipment be placed from the spa?

Look forward to your reply.

Thank You

Patrick

Inyo Service,

We are located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  The clients house is up a little higher on the edge of the Flat Tops National Forest.  The concept for the feature is to be a “hot spring”.  We had the idea of building a wood frame that is padded and lined, and rocked with moss rock boulder or veneer (similar construction methods to the many water features we have built for clients over the year).  The feature would be half in, and half out of the ground.  We would want a top and bottom skimmer to control water quality, with no jets. There would possibly be a small waterfall providing aeration, and visual interest.  For now assume a 16’ square for size.  The equipment would ideally be located below the feature in an access panel similar to the construction of a hot tub.

This is obviously a custom build with several design and construction challenges.  We look forward to any input or ideas on how this might go.

Thanks!
