Crystal Pure Salt System PTSS-66600
I installed my new Crystal Pure system and added the recommended amount of salt. The initial salinity level was reading around 2700ppm. The next morning it was reading 1700ppm, so i used some test strips to check the actual level. The strip revealed a salinity level between 3000-3500ppm. Does the Crystal Pure Salt System PTSS-66600 take a while to start reading actual levels or did I get a defective unit?

In an ideal situtation, you would want to add salt to your pool prior to installing the salt system. Adding large quantities of salt can cause havoc on the salt readings for a few days, but eventually the salt reading should level out. At this point, your salt reading should be closer in line with your salt water test results. You could possibly have a defective cell if it is not reading correctly. I would recommend reviewing some possible troubleshooting steps in the Installation and Operation Guide to see if that help resolve any ongoing issues. My system is showing generating ,but no chlorine is being produced. The amps and the salt cal. will not display. My unit was installed last spring. Would like some help on what to do.
