New Speck pump is working great but I’m worried about power failures and then burning up my booster pump.

Pool pump is directley wired, booster is wired to Intematic timer. if I loose power the pool  pump has battery backup, not so on the booster. If on vacation the booster could run for hours without the any water and blow up. Any inexpensive solutions?

Thanks

Hello Bandyboy - The only way you would have that issue is if your pool pump failed. If the pool pump failed you would not want the booster pump to turn on. In a previous thread you said the booster pump was connected to a T104 Intermatic timer. You could remove the timer trippers and place the manual timer lever to the off position. This will prevent the booster pump from running.

Yes Rob that stops the booster but it needs to tun about 2 hours a day. The pool pump runs 8 hours at 30% and 2 hours at 100%, thats when the booster pump kicks in. If power goes out for 8 hours and we are not home to reset the timer it will be starting up when the pool pump shuts down. Two hours running dry would be a problem. Can the booster be wired to the Speck? The Speck has a battery back up, right???

The Badu EcoMV does not have an auxiliary line for the booster pump. So the booster pump cannot be connected directly to the EcoMV. If you are concerned about a power outage, we recommend doing what I mentionaed previously. Just keep the booster pump off while you are gone.

The Badu EcoMV does have a backup power supply.

Thanks for the advice.
